Dhaka Bank Sponsor JAWS Sculpture at Kolatoly Crossing, Cox’s Bazar
The Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Cox’s Bazar has decided to decorate the Kolatoly Crossing (the entry point of Cox’s Bazar, the first site of Bay of Bengal) with majestic central sculpture compose of major four spices sharks (Common Shark, Tiger Shirk, Hammer Headed and Leopard Shark) at Octagonal base of marine ecosystem. The initiative would give rise a good marine feeling to the visitor at a very first site. The Sculpture is named as JAWS to emphasize regularly captured commonly available sharks in Bay of Bengal as symbol of oceanic treasurers.
As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility Dhaka Bank has decided to sponsor the sculpture. In this connection a joint meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Cox’s Bazar on June 4, 2009. Among others, Mr. Md. Gias Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Md. Omar Faruque, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain, Police Super, Lt. Col MM Anisur Rahman psc, Commander, 17 ECB, Mr. Altaf Hossain Sarker, Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Hanif, Vice Chairman, Mr. ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, Director & Former Chairman, Mr. Khondker Fazle Rashid, Managing Director, Mr. Syed Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Manager, Cox’s Bazar Branch and Mr. Azam Khan, First Assistant Vice President were present on the occasion.
