Dhaka Bank Limited receives the International Star Award for Quality, Geneva 2006
Dhaka Bank Limited was awarded the International Star Award for Quality at a presentation held on 30th October 2006 in the Inter- continental Hotel, Geneva Convention Hall, Switzerland.
The award was handed over to Shahed Noman, Managing Director, Dhaka Bank Limited at the ceremony held at Geneva. The event was presided by Jose E Prieto, President and CEO of Business Initiative Directions, along with outstanding personalities from the business world and diplomatic crops in Geneva. The award recognizes and created a firm ground for the implementation of an integral quality process through the technology and procedures of the QC 100 TQM (Total Quality Management.) The selection is based on the criteria of the principles of the QC 100 TQM: a. Customer Satisfaction, b. Communication Strategies, c. Benchmarking. d. Information and data analysis, e. Leadership, f. Planning and Decision Making, g. Human Resources, h. Contining Education and Training, i. Process and Production, j. Financial outcome k. Business Results l. ISO 9000
The purpose of the 31st International WQC Convention Geneva 2006 is to recognize the commitment to quality of awarded companies whose activities cover the top areas of various services and industrial production. Participants from 47 countries across the world were awarded this year and Dhaka Bank Limited from Bangladesh was the only one represented from the banking sector among the awardees. For Jose E. Prieto, the CEO of B.I.D, “the awarded companies are symbols of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation which make them models for other companies of their sectors.”
