Dhaka Bank inaugurated Khulshi Sub-branch

Dhaka Bank Limited inaugurated its Khulshi Sub-branch under CDA Avenue Branch in Chattagram recently. Jashim Uddin, Vice Chairman of Dhaka Bank, formally inaugurated the sub-branch while Emranul Huq, Managing Director & CEO, Dhaka Bank, virtually inaugurated the sub-branch on a digital platform.

Private container depots hike handling charges by 23%

Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) has increased the charges for container handling by 23% citing recent fuel price hike and increase in other export-import cargo management costs. However, Bangladesh Freight Forwarder Association (BAFA) and exporters of readymade garments called the increase unreasonable. It will increase the export costs. The government hiked diesel and kerosene prices by Tk15 to Tk80 per litre on 3 November, following a volatile global market for crude oil.

 BKB gets three new DMDs

The state-owned Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) gets three new deputy managing directors (DMDs). The three are Chanu Gopal Ghosh, Mir Mofazzul Hossain and Salma Banu, says the bank in a statement on Monday. They have been promoted to the posts of DMD recently by the government and they have joined the BKB. Earlier, Chanu Gopal Ghosh was promoted as General Manager (GM) at the Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) where he served successfully. Later he performed as GM at the BKB for its Kushtia Division. He started his banking career with the BHBFC as a Senior Officer in 1996. He held important posts throughout his career including the post of administration, Audit & Recovery at the BHBFC. He also served at the Palli Sanchay Bank as GM of admin & accounts division. Now he is in charge of International Accounts Division, Internal Control & Compliance Division and in additional charge of Local Principal Office of the BKB.
