  • Any document supporting residency status abroad e.g. work permit, resident card etc. whichever is applicable (for Bangladeshi passport holder).
  • Any other photo ID document e.g. driving license, citizenship card etc. as proof of country of residence (for foreign passport holder)
  • Address identifier document (e.g. utility bill, driving license) if the address is other than that mentioned in passport/NID
  • FATCA declaration if US tax payer
For Nominee:
  • 01 nos passport size photograph duly attested by applicant(s)
  • Copy of valid passport/NID
OBU Term Deposit Account

Individual Account:

Applicant:
  • Account opening form duly filled in and signed
  • 01 nos passport size photograph
  • Copy of valid passport
  • NID (if any)
  • Any document supporting residency status abroad e.g. work permit, resident card etc. whichever is applicable (for Bangladeshi passport holder).
  • Any other photo ID document e.g. driving license, citizenship card etc. as proof of country of residence (for foreign passport holder)

Nominee:

  • Certificate of Incorporation;
  • Board Resolution to open and operate account in DBPLC along with account operation instruction;
  • Updated Schedule X & SXII;
Nominee (In case of proprietorship concern):
  • 01 nos passport size photograph duly attested by applicant(s)
  • Copy of valid passport/NID

For OBU Term Deposit Account, a linked FC (Current Account/Savings Account) is necessary to facilitate the operation. If already have such account with Dhaka Bank OBU, for opening Term Deposit account, only filled in Term Deposit Account opening form will be suffice along with documents required for nominee (if applicable).

OBU International Banking (IB) Account

Individual Account:

Applicant (Bangladeshi resident act as facilitator):
  • Account opening form duly filled in and signed
  • 02 nos passport size photograph
  • National Identification Card (NID)
  • Address identifier document e.g. utility bill if the address is other than that mentioned in NID
Nominee:
  • 01 nos passport size photograph duly attested by applicant(s)
  • Copy of NID
Remitter (Non-resident having bonafide relation with applicant):
  • Undertaking/mandate/indemnity/instruction related to the account operation in prescribed format duly signed by the remitter or the same through wire from the remitting bank

Non-individual Account:

Applicant (Bangladeshi resident act as facilitator):
  • Account opening form duly filled in and signed;
  • passport size photograph of all directors/partners, signatories and mandates;

Procedure to Open Account
OBU Savings Account & OBU Term Deposit Account

For opening Account:

  • Step 1: Check Required Documents and Download relevant Forms
  • Step 2: Fill up the Forms with signature and scan it with necessary documents
  • Step 3: Email the scanned form and relevant documents to obu.account@dhakabank.com.bd
  • Step 4: If all documents and credentials are in order, you will get an email containing account number in your verified email ID
  • Step 5: Remit/Transfer the desired amount (above initial amount required) to the account through banking channel as per below details:
    • Recipient Bank’s Name: Dhaka Bank PLC.
    • Recipient’s SWIFT Code: DHBLBDDH991
    • Customer’s OBU Account No. (as received via email mentioned in Step 4): _________

  • Step 6: You will receive confirmation email upon receipt of fund and instrument for Term Deposit (if applicable)
