Mr. Mohammad Abu Jafar has recently joined Dhaka Bank Limited (DBL) as Deputy Managing Director. Prior to joining DBL, he was the Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Branch Manager of National Bank Limited, Dilkusha Branch (Principal Branch). Mr. Jafar has started his professional banking career back in 1990 with Uttara Bank Limited as Probationary Officer. Afterwards, he joined National Bank in 2006 as Senior Vice President (SVP). In both Uttara Bank and National Bank, he served as the Manager of large AD Branches for more than 15 (fifteen) years. He also contributed significantly towards overall business growth especially, in Ready Made Garments (RMG), Off-shore Banking and Foreign Trade sectors. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Jafar also played a vital role in establishing Off-shore Banking Unit (OBU) in National Bank, Mohakhali Branch. For his continuous efforts and contributions towards the growth of both the Banks, he also received various awards and appreciations. Mr. Jafar was born in Chittagong in 1964. He obtained BSS with Honours and MSS in Economics from University of Chittagong. He is also a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB). Moreover, he attended different banking programs, trainings, seminars and workshops both from home and abroad
